Does Torres Music Academy offer piano lessons for 3 or 4 year olds?
Learning how to read music and play the piano is wonderful life skill for young students. However, three and four years old might be a little young for formal piano lessons. At Torres Music Academy, we welcome parents to bring your little ones in for a free trial lesson and assessment where our instructor will assess if we are the right fit for your little learner! Yes, Torres Music Academy is an inclusive creativity space and learning place! We encourage all comers, any age, any skill level to join our student community! Book a free trial lesson.
Does Torres Music Academy offer piano lessons for digital or electronic keyboard piano?
Yes! Our learning space has two acoustic pianos students learn on, however, our lesson curriculum is set up to meet the goals and interest of the student. Many of our students have a digital piano or electronic piano keyboards at home and thus our instruction caters to enhance techniques for those instruments. Students are also welcome to bring their electronic keyboards for lessons, if they wish.
Does Torres Music Academy offer group or sibling piano lessons?
Yes, we offer a lesson curriculum for students who wish to learn with a partner or sibling. This typically includes two 30-minute lessons with time for crossover duet learning.

What kind of piano does Torres Music Academy recommend to learn on?
Choosing the “right” piano to learn on comes down to a variety factors. Different playing styles or age groups may be attracted to different qualities of an instrument. For a beginner, 66 keys are sufficient for learning to play, and you can play most music on a 72-key instrument. For anyone interested in playing classical piano, a full 88 keys may be recommended. To start students are fine with a piano or keyboard that has less than 66 keys. At the Torres Music Academy learning space students learn on a traditional 88 key acoustic piano.
Can my instructor help me purchase a piano or keyboard?
Yes, we can. Whether you are looking at a used piano online or are wanting to upgrade your current instrument, our instructors can help guide your purchasing decision. We can even tour a few piano galleries in the DFW .
